When we decided to design our interpretation of a Royal Wedding Cake, Cumbria Life asked if they could come down to Bowness and take some photos…

When the Royal Wedding was announced, we knew we had to do it. I had trained in cake decoration at the Mary Ford school in Dorset. Mary Ford made the wedding cake for Charles and Diana in 1981, so we felt we had to come up with our own interpretation of what William and Kate’s cake would be like.

What I didn’t know was they’d make me sit on a jetty next to it, with a professional photographer taking shots of me, and Mary from our studio snapping all of us…

It was a bit precarious by the water’s edge…

And even entertained the tourists on the lake ….

If you want to see the article, pick up a copy of Cumbria Life now. If you’d like to see the cake in person, it’s in our window. Come and take a look!
